One of our goals with Muddy Boot is to highlight the farmer and all of the hard work that goes into producing high quality wine grapes. Why would we do this? Well, we have a combined 16 generations of farming between the three of us, which has given us a unique perspective and great appreciation for what goes into the farming side of making great wine. Often, the hard work of the farmer and employees go unnoticed, and much of the attention and praise go to the winemaker (often times, well deserved!). The three us grew up with parents who taught us the grape grower’s mantra: “you can make great wine with great grapes, and you can make poor wine with great grapes, but you can’t make great wine with poor quality grapes.”

We hope to give the consumer an inside view of what goes on in the vineyard throughout the year and also highlight the local Clarksburg producers from whom we source high quality wine grapes.
